If a doctor has ever told you that your health could benefit from more exercise, the Medical Wellness Program may be the right option for you. Located in Columbus Community Hospital's cardiopulmonary rehabilitation department, the program is intended for people who are at high risk for medical problems, or for those who are graduates of the Cardiac Rehab Program or Pulmonary Rehab Program.
Who can join the Medical Wellness Program?
The program is for anyone who has a history of:
- Heart disease
- Lung disease
- Stroke
- Diabetes
You also qualify if you have two or more of the following risk factors for cardiovascular disease:
- High blood pressure
- Obesity
- High cholesterol
- A poor diet
- A history of smoking
Costs for the Medical Wellness Program
New participants: $70 assessment fee, $30 monthly fee (total of $100 for the first month). This includes an initial assessment, cardiac monitoring, fitness evaluation, body mass index (BMI) monitoring and in-depth orientation.
Monthly membership: $30
Can my spouse join? Your spouse may join for the initial $70 assessment fee and $30 for the first month. There will be a $15 monthly charge thereafter.
Hospital volunteers and board members can join for a $50 assessment fee and a $10 monthly charge.
Hours for the Medical Wellness Program
Monday-Friday, 6 a.m.-5 p.m.
