Massage Therapy
Whether you’re looking to indulge in some well-deserved relaxation or you just want to boost your well-being, you can enjoy the benefits of massage therapy provided by a licensed massage therapist at Columbus Community Hospital Massage Therapy. Since March 2024, the clinic has offered massage services to those seeking a variety of mind and body benefits.
Massage may help:
- Boost blood flow, sleep and range of motion
- Relieve chronic pain, stress, tense muscles, headaches, anxiety and depression
Increase the body's overall endorphins
The clinic offers four types of 30-, 60- or 90-minute massages:
- Swedish. This technique combines gentle strokes with kneading and tapping. Karakatsanis suggests this type for your first massage or for relaxation.
- Deep tissue. This more intense technique (you might feel tender the next day) uses sustained pressure and slow, deep strokes to target and remove knots in muscles and tissues.
- Hot stone. Deep strokes with warm stones allow the therapist to find knots the hands might miss.
- Aromatherapy. This massage uses soft strokes with your choice of eucalyptus, lavender, rosemary or other essential oils.
Other services include:
- A 15-minute facial
- Paraffin wax dip to soothe arthritic or dry hands or feet
- Hand and foot scrub to help hydrate the skin
