Oncology and infusion services

Columbus Community Hospital offers oncology and infusion services for both children and adults, including chemotherapy, intravenous (IV) infusions and injections. You may undergo your initial treatment or therapy at another hospital or doctor’s clinic, but you can complete your remaining treatments in Columbus Community Hospital's infusion services department.

CCH oncology services

CCH's oncology services offers:

  • Chemotherapy administered according to established protocols and the oncologist’s orders.
  • Nursing staff that is certified in chemotherapy and biotherapy administration.
  • Private patient treatment rooms.
  • Administration of medications that enhance the immune system.

CCH infusion services

Columbus Community Hospital’s Infusion Center provides services for both children and adults from 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. The Infusion Center was created for the convenience of patients and families, allowing them to stay close to home for IV and chemotherapy medications, dressing changes or related service.

The Infusion Center serves patients with the following diagnoses: 

  • Blood disorders.
  • Cancer.
  • Chronic kidney disease.
  • Infections requiring IV antibiotics or dressing changes.
  • Multiple sclerosis.
  • Osteoporosis/rheumatoid arthritis.
  • Gastrointestinal disorders.

The Infusion Center RNs are all chemotherapy/biotherapy-certified and are experienced in intravenous and related treatments, including:

  • Biophosphonate therapy.
  • Central line and PICC line catheter care.
  • Chemotherapy.
  • Growth factor administration.
  • Hydration and electrolyte management.
  • IV antibiotic administration.
  • IV immune globulin therapy.
  • Monoclonal antibodies therapy.
  • Transfusion of blood and blood products.
  • Therapeutic phlebotomy.
