Biography

During the 22 years that Samer Renno, MD, has been practicing hematology and medical oncology, researchers have made incredible progress with finding new treatments. He says he’s grateful for the huge strides, and eager to see what’s in the future.

“It has been a great journey over my 20+ years of practice,” said Renno. “I have met wonderful patients and tried to ease their suffering and attempted to cure their illness.”

Originally from Beirut, Lebanon, Renno moved to the United States for his post-medical school training. He chose to settle in Nebraska to be closer to extended family members in Omaha.

Renno works for Hematology & Oncology Consultants, PC, treating cancerous and noncancerous blood disorders and solid cancers. He says he wants to help patients through their journey, even if a cure is impossible.

When he’s not meeting with patients, Renno enjoys exercising regularly, participating in both cardiovascular exercise and lifting weights. He is married to his wife Zeina, and they have two children — Yasmina and Ibrahim.

He says that fish tacos are one of his favorite foods, and if he were trapped on an island, he would choose rock band U2 as his source of entertainment.

As for the best piece of advice he’s ever received: “Take care of yourself as well as others.”
