Joseph Citta III, MD
Biography
Joe Citta, MD, loves his job, he says, because he gets to develop meaningful relationships with his patients.
Citta joined Columbus Family Practice in 2011 and has been on staff at Columbus Community Hospital for 13 years. As a family medicine doctor, he cares for all ages.
Citta said he started becoming interested in science already in elementary school, and he always wanted to be a doctor. His wife, Amber, also works in health care — she is a nurse practitioner at Columbus Otolaryngology Clinic. They have two children — Eastyn, 11, and Joey, 8, three yellow lab dogs, and two farm cats.
"My favorite part about my job is getting to know my patients and their families," said Citta.
However, he does enjoy his off-time, as well. Citta enjoys coaching soccer, attending athletic events, hunting, fishing and shooting.
"It means a lot to me to be a part of the health care team in Columbus," Citta said, "because it's where I grew up, and it's where Amber and I wanted to raise our family. It was always my goal to return here. I enjoy the camaraderie of all the providers in the Columbus area."
