Biography
Jon graduated from Briar Cliff University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER). He passed the Board of Certification examination in November 2002 and became a certified athletic trainer (ATC). Jon graduated in May 2005 from the University of Nebraska Medical Center with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. He joined Premier Physical Therapy at Columbus Community Hospital in June 2005.
Jon earned MDT Certification from The McKenzie Institute® USA Center for Postgraduate Study in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy® (MDT) in 2011. Physical therapists must complete a series of advanced postgraduate courses to become certified practitioners of the McKenzie Method® of MDT. It is an evidence-based patient management system proven to eliminate back, neck and extremity pain in fewer visits than traditional treatment.
Jon became a credentialed clinical instructor through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) in 2014. He is an active member of the APTA and the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA).
Jon is married to his high school sweetheart, Kristie, and is the father of four daughters — Libbie, Emma, Allie and Aubree. In his free time, Jon enjoys exercising, golfing, hunting and fishing. He is also active in coaching youth and high school soccer.
