Biography
Brittany graduated from Doane University in Crete, Nebraska, with her Bachelor of Science degree in biology in 2014, and earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, in 2017. She joined the Rehab Services at the Wellness Center team in November 2017.
Brittany has experience and enjoys working with a wide variety of outpatients, including those who have experienced sports injuries, strokes, Parkinson's disease, balance deficits and orthopedic procedures. She also has experience with inpatient care, home health and aquatic therapy.
Brittany has achieved certification in Functional Dry Needling (FDN) Level 1 and Level 2. Dry needling is a skilled technique performed by a physical therapist that uses a thin needle to penetrate the skin to improve neuromusculoskeletal pain and movement impairments. She utilizes FDN with the goal of releasing the trigger points to relieve pain and improve her patient’s range of motion.
Brittany also has received advanced training in Parkinson's disease with certification in LSVT-BIG®, and is our lead certified coach for Rock Steady Boxing. In 2021, she achieved PWR!Moves® certification for Parkinson’s patients, and she serves on our comprehensive Parkinson’s Wellness Program team at the Wellness Center, CCH Parkinson Symposium committee, and Rehab marketing team.
Brittany and her husband, Matt, live in Columbus with their son. She enjoys being active outside, playing sports, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
