Biography
Amanda grew up in Howells, Nebraska, and attended College of Saint Mary in Omaha, Nebraska. She received her Bachelor of Rehabilitation Studies degree in 2012, and her Master of Occupational Therapy degree in 2013.
After completing her degrees, Amanda accepted a position in outpatient services at Faith Regional Health Services, and shortly thereafter, she pursued a specialty certification in lymphedema therapy through the Academy of Lymphatic Studies in November 2013. In 2016, Amanda began a position at Lincoln Surgical Hospital specializing in orthopedics.
In 2024, Amanda and her husband, Mitch, relocated again to be closer to family and pursue their desire to raise their children in a smaller community. Mitch, an athletic trainer, joined Columbus Community Hospital’s athletic training services, working with student-athletes at area schools. Amanda then joined CCH’s Rehab Services team at the Wellness Center. She shares her schedule between outpatient care at Rehab Services at the Wellness Center and inpatient care at the hospital.
In addition, Amanda is certified in physical agent modalities, including superficial and deep thermal agents and electrotherapeutic agents. She is also a certified lactation counselor and uses her occupational therapy background to support mothers in their lactation journey.
Amanda and her family live in Columbus with their three children. They all enjoy visiting Mitch’s parents’ farm, being outdoors and going on little adventures. Amanda also loves to complete crafts, read, go for walks and bake.
