(COLUMBUS, Neb.) - Columbus Sports Performance Center (CSPC) is excited to announce the promotion
of Christopher Holt, MS, CSCS, to director of strength and performance. Holt, who has been a valuable
member of the CSPC coaching staff for nearly two years, will officially transition into the role in the
coming weeks.
“This is a big opportunity for myself and my family to be rooted deeper in this community,” said Holt.
“From a professional standpoint, it's the next step in my growth, but personally, it's very humbling.
Coming from a larger metro area, you don’t always get that immediate connection with people. Here,
it’s different — you see folks at the grocery store, around town — and that connection really motivates
me to provide the best services we can and support the community's health and wellness.”
Holt has played a key role in CSPC’s development and success — helping lead strength programs for
Central Community College, athletes and administrators, as well as a wide variety of teams, clubs and
individuals who train at the center.
He brings more than a decade of experience to the role, including departmental management, staff
development and work in both private and community-based settings.
“We are excited that Chris has accepted the position of director of CSPC,” said Keith Luedders, Columbus
Community Hospital’s vice president of ancillary services. ”Chris is a skilled coach and a positive
presence within our center. He is just the right person to take this next step.”
Lucas Novotny, CSPC’s current director, will remain at the facility through July 25 to support the
transition and help athletes finish their summer training. His leadership over the past three years has
helped CSPC grow into a trusted resource for athletes of all ages and skill levels. His dedication has laid a
strong foundation for the future.
As part of Holt’s new responsibilities, he will begin the process of hiring an additional strength coach to
support fall programming and ensure a strong start to the new season.
