For Immediate Release
(COLUMBUS, Neb.) – Aspiring respiratory therapists can get a jumpstart on their career with Columbus
Community Hospital’s Respiratory Therapy Scholarship/Internship Program.
Respiratory therapists play an important role in diagnosing, treating and managing patients who have
lung and cardiovascular diseases. They help them breathe better and have the right amount of
oxygenation, and are especially vital e in critical care settings and for those with chronic conditions. CCH
recognizes the growing demand for these specialists and wants to nurture this essential profession from
within its community.
Participants will receive comprehensive support that covers tuition, textbooks and various other
education-related expenses directly on their behalf. This financial relief enables students to fully
immerse themselves in their studies without extra financial stress. The program specifically partners
with accredited respiratory therapy programs and courses offered through Central Community College
and Southeast Community College.
To qualify, applicants must be able to show they live in Columbus or the immediately surrounding area,
or are attending school within that area.
By nurturing a steady supply of these essential professionals, CCH will raise the standard of patient care,
improving health outcomes and ensuring that residents have access to top-tier respiratory services close
to home. This program is not just about filling roles — it's about building a healthier, more resilient
community through education and professional empowerment.
The submission deadline for applications is Sept. 30. If you need personal guidance or answers to
specific inquiries, please contact Melinda Allen at 402-562-3363.
