(COLUMBUS, Neb.) – Nurses are incredibly vital to the healthcare world, offering compassion and
caring when patients need it most.

During the week of May 5-9, Columbus Community Hospital celebrates National Nurses Week to
recognize and honor our invaluable nursing staff.

“This week will show our admiration of their hard work,” said Tawny Sandifer, vice president of patient
care services and the hospital’s chief nursing officer, “and acknowledge the incredible difference they
make in the lives of our patients throughout our community.”

This year's celebration carries the theme “Redefining nursing,” and CCH is organizing a week brimming
with appreciation and engagement opportunities. Nurses can look forward to daily prize drawings and
participate in a community-spirited “change war” fundraiser, special merchandise giveaways, a
meaningful Blessing of the Hands ceremony, a creative poster day and a celebratory mocktails and
nacho bar.

These planned events underscore the profound impact CCH nurses have on both patient well-being and
the broader hospital community. “As we celebrate National Nurses Week, I extend my heartfelt
gratitude to all our incredible nurses,” said Michael T. Hansen, president and CEO of the hospital. “Your
resolute devotion, compassion and commitment to providing exemplary care are truly the backbone of
our hospital. Every day, you make a profound difference in the lives of our patients and families.”

The “change war” fundraiser will benefit the CCH Foundation. This initiative awards points for donations
of paper money and pennies, while it deducts points for silver coins. The department with the highest
point total will be rewarded with a pizza party and the honor of selecting the specific CCH Foundation
account to receive the raised funds.

Columbus Community Hospital takes immense pride in recognizing its nurses during National Nurses
Week. We extend our deepest appreciation for their unwavering commitment to providing
extraordinary care to the community.
