In fall 2025, Autumn Gibbs will be transferring to Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, to play volleyball. But for now, she has found a temporary home at Columbus Community Hospital - and she feels fortunate to have a job that she believes in.

Gibbs is a data entry clerk in the hospital's Occupational Health Services. The department focuses on the well-being of employees in the workplace, collaborating with companies to help their employees prevent both injuries and chronic diseases.

Before coming to CCH, Gibbs was a server and pool maintenance worker at Elks County Club and a babysitter. However, she said, she really wanted to work for a healthcare agency, so the hospital was the perfect fit.

"In addition to helping out my work team, I hope to be able to learn more about careers at CCH," she said. "I am very interested in preventive care and helping people with their lifestyle. I am most excited about having the opportunity to gain experience and get to know the other employees at the hospital."

As is evidenced by her fall plans, Gibbs loves playing sports, and says she is very competitive. In addition to volleyball, she enjoys playing pickleball and spike ball. "I love traveling to new places and finding cute shops and restaurants," she said.

So far, Gibbs' job at CCH has been working out well, she said. "The orientation was very helpful, and communication with management has been great," she said.
