(COLUMBUS, Neb.) – Columbus Community Hospital (CCH) is proud to announce Adrian Tasa, RN, BSN,
a dedicated Oncology Nurse Navigator, has been recognized with the prestigious DAISY Award for
March/April. This esteemed international award celebrates nurses who demonstrate extraordinary
clinical skill and provide compassionate, patient-centered care. Adrian's commitment to her patients
and their families truly embodies the spirit of this honor.

Adrian was nominated by the family of a patient, Den, whose challenging cancer journey was profoundly
positively impacted by her exceptional guidance and unwavering support. The nominator highlighted
Adrian's crucial role, explaining how heavily they relied on her expertise and empathy throughout Den's
treatment. Adrian consistently made herself available, demonstrating remarkable responsiveness by
promptly returning texts and calls, even outside of regular hours. She always provided timely
suggestions, heartfelt encouragement and whatever support the family needed, ensuring they never felt
alone.

The nomination underscored Adrian's holistic approach to care, which extended beyond the patient to
encompass the entire family unit. The nominator noted that Adrian cared not only about Den but also
about them as a caregiver, offering essential support and understanding during a difficult time. The
family recounted reaching out to Adrian on weekends and at night and she consistently responded,
showcasing an extraordinary level of dedication and accessibility.

The profound impact of Adrian's care was powerfully expressed by the family, who stated that Den's
cancer journey would have been significantly harder without her. They concluded by saying that Adrian
has become like family and they hold a deep affection for her. Adrian Tasa exemplifies the highest
standards of nursing excellence and compassionate patient advocacy. Her dedication to providing
comprehensive and empathetic support to oncology patients and their families makes an immeasurable
difference in their lives, solidifying her as an invaluable asset to the CCH team.

The DAISY Award is an international program that recognizes and celebrates the extraordinary clinical
skill and compassionate care given by nurses every day. It was established by the DAISY Foundation in
memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died from an autoimmune disease. His family was so touched by the
care he received from his nurses that they created the award to thank nurses for the work they do.
