Pride in our progress and an exciting future

As summer arrives and we reflect on the past fiscal year at Columbus Community Hospital, I am proud of the advances we have made together to deliver exceptional healthcare for our community.

At a time when hospitals around the country are struggling with negative margins, we have remained on firm financial ground, having retired our long-term debt in 2012. Our stability allows us to continue investing in our greatest asset — our team. We are also purchasing advanced technology, including a second Mako robotic surgery system and a new in-house positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) scanner for improved diagnostic imaging access.

This October, we will be celebrating the opening of the Mead Family Cancer Center. This new facility will bring radiation oncology, medical oncology and infusion services together in one location.
Looking ahead, we will continue to focus on workforce development, community wellness, prenatal care and strong advocacy for rural healthcare funding and reimbursement at the state and national levels.

As always, we are honored to serve you and your loved ones.

Sincerely,
Michael Hansen, FACHE President and CEO
