Frequently asked applications questions
Do I need to submit an application, or can I just submit my resume? If you want to be considered for employment with Columbus Community Hospital, we require that you complete an application. However, we encourage you to submit a resume in addition to the application. If you are applying online, there is a section where you can attach your resume.
What if I cannot submit or have difficulties submitting my application online? Please review the application to make sure that all *Required fields have been completed. You must fill in any field with a red * to submit the application. If you continue to have difficulties, please contact CCH’s human resources department.
What if I do not have access to the internet or a computer? Public libraries and NE Works offices typically have free access to the internet, and may even offer assistance.
How do I know if my application has been received? If you submit your application online, you should reach a page that says “Dear applicant, thank you for submitting your application.” If you mail in your application, you will receive an email letting you know that we received your application. If you do not have an email address, you will receive a letter in the mail confirming receipt of your application. If you have further questions, you may call human resources at 402-562-3370.
How will I know if I am being considered for a position? After applications are reviewed, and if you are selected for an interview, the appropriate department manager will contact you.
Will I know if I am not being considered for a position? Applicants may either email or call human resources to check on the status of their application. Please contact human resources with any questions or concerns throughout the hiring process — not the hiring managers. You will receive an email or letter if you are not chosen for the position.
What is the closing date for a position? We normally do not have closing dates associated with positions; however we urge you to apply as soon as possible if you are interested. Most positions are open until filled, or until a manager feels they have enough qualified applicants to begin interviews.
What is the salary for the position? Salaries are determined based on the current economic market and applicants’ qualifications. Years of experience in similar positions are taken into account whenever possible.
Are vaccinations required for employees at CCH? Columbus Community Hospital values the safety of the patients and families we serve, as well as the safety of our staff. Because of the high importance we place on safety, we want to let you know that seasonal influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations are a condition of employment for all employees in our organization. Additionally, new staff members must be willing to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination. If you have any concerns about receiving these vaccinations, you can discuss medical and/or religious exemptions with human resources.
