Columbus Community Hospital

Women's health

Columbus Community Hospital’s knowledgeable team of women’s health experts and obstetrics and gynecology providers understands the needs of women at every age and every stage of life.

Our services

We offer a continuum of care and an array of beneficial health screenings and treatment options.

These include:

  • Mammograms – This is an X-ray picture of the breast that looks for early signs of breast cancer. Regular screenings are the best tests doctors have to detect breast cancer early, sometimes up to three years before a lump can be felt to the touch.
  • Pelvic exams – This is an examination of a woman’s vulva and internal reproductive organs, which include the cervix, ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus and vagina.
  • Pap tests – A screening procedure for cervical cancer, this test looks for the presence of precancerous or cancerous cells on the cervix, which is the opening of the uterus.
  • General physicals – At this annual checkup, a provider looks over a patient’s body for signs of disease or illness. They also order any tests to check for high blood pressure, high cholesterol or any other potential health problems.

Sometimes, women think nothing can be done to help with their health problems, and they feel alone. However, feelings of pressure, weakness or discomfort, or loss of bladder control are much more common in women than they may realize.

Our highly specialized, caring team of OB/GYNs, urologists and other specialists work with patients to find answers and give personalized solutions to effectively treat everyday health problems. We have a range of treatment options for bladder leakage, discomfort, pain during intercourse, pelvic pressure or pelvic prolapse. These treatment solutions may include medication, ongoing physical therapy or advanced surgical techniques, if necessary.
