When you can’t breathe well, life is so much harder. The respiratory therapists at Columbus Community hospitals work with cardiologists, pulmonologists, primary care physicians and other providers to help you breathe better.
Our respiratory therapists help patients with a variety of conditions, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumonia and heart failure. They also treat trauma and surgical patients. Respiratory therapists can manage your ventilator care if you have difficulty breathing on your own and respond to all emergency situations that occur in the hospital.
Our diagnostic lab at Columbus Community Hospital includes a wide variety of noninvasive tests, from those that assess lung function values and oxygen levels in the blood, to tolerance to exercise activity and cardiac monitoring.
The goal of our respiratory care programs is to educate you and your family about disease processes, drug actions, drug self-administration and the use of home oxygen.
Our staff members have certifications in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), neonatal resuscitation program (NRP), pediatric advanced life support (PALS) and basic life support (BLS).
All of our staff are registered respiratory therapists. Together, we have more than 200 years of experience.
