The Sheaf of Wheat award recognizes those staff members who are extraordinary every day. We present this award quarterly to non-nursing employees who support Columbus Community Hospital staff, patients and family members. Just as wheat cannot survive without roots, nurses cannot survive without other hospital staff members.
The Sheaf of Wheat signifies productivity and progress; there are many different departments and people who work together to provide the best care for our patients. Please tell us the story of how an individual has made an impact on you or your family. Let us recognize this individual for their outstanding performance in our hospital community.
Who is eligible for the Sheaf of Wheat award?
Sheaf of Wheat honorees can include any hospital employees outside of nursing. Examples include certified nursing assistants; therapists; patient transportation and valet drivers; housekeepers; nutrition services, imaging, registration and lab employees; etc.
What will the honoree receive?
The CCH Interdisciplinary Council will organize a surprise celebration in the honoree’s home unit that includes their peers and the person (family) who nominated them, if they wish to be present. Honorees will receive a certificate, flowers and a plaque.
Who is on the selection committee?
The selection committee is composed of an interdisciplinary team and steering council.
How do you nominate someone?
Patients, visitors, nurses, physicians and employees can submit a nomination by clicking on the “Nominate a non-nursing employee” link and telling us how this employee made an exceptional impact on you or your family.
