Lunch & Learn: The weight of Sadness - link between depression and obesity
4/19/2023 - 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Pawnee/Pioneer Rooms
Food and mood often go together. Many people have an unhealthy
relationship with food when they feel down or stressed.
It’s normal for people to overeat or eat unhealthy items when they
experience difficult emotions. But for those living with depression,
changes in eating can be long-term and lead to drastic weight gain.
Join our panel featuring Dr. Venkata Kolli, Dr. Luke Lemke and Lucas
Novotny as they discuss the connection between depression and obesity.
The panel will focus on the reasons why there is a link between food and
mood, and how to best resolve this issue.
Presenters:
Dr. Venkata Kolli, Columbus Psychiatry Clinic,
Dr. Luke Lemke, Columbus Medical Center,
Lucas Novotny, MS, CSCS, Director of performance and training, Columbus Community Hospital.
