Columbus Community Hospital is renaming its Registered Nurse Apprenticeship Program to the CCH Student Nurse Internship, leveraging new state funding to address Nebraska’s nursing shortage. The updated program aims to recruit and retain nursing students by offering financial support for education, including up to 75% of tuition, books and fees, as well as loan forgiveness for graduates who commit to working at CCH after graduation.
The internship will support a range of nursing students through four specialized tracks and provides mentorship from experienced registered nurses. Applications are accepted twice a year, aligning with efforts to strengthen rural healthcare by addressing the critical need for more nursing professionals in Nebraska.
