Columbus Community Hospital's medical alert service, now renamed Safe at Home, has a new program coordinator, Hailey Rathje, who began her role in November 2023. The service, formerly known as Philips Lifeline, provides both in-home and on-the-go emergency response systems, allowing users to receive help 24/7 with just a button press. Launched in 1983 with 17 units, the program has evolved with technological advancements over the past 40 years. Rathje, a Columbus native with a background in social work and a passion for gerontology, has quickly seen the positive impact of the program on the community, including long-term subscribers who have relied on the service for over 15 years.
