CCH, Lakeview athletic trainer Mike Sloup honored by NSATA

Mike Sloup, a dedicated athletic trainer from Columbus, was recently honored with an induction into the Nebraska State Athletic Trainers' Association Hall of Fame at their Summer Education Conference in Kearney. Sloup, who has served the Columbus Community Hospital and Lakeview Community Schools for over 20 years, expressed gratitude for the support of his colleagues, administrators, coaches, athletes, and parents, acknowledging that the recognition reflects the collective effort of many rather than just his own.

Sloup's career began after an injury during his college sports days at Midland University led him to the field of athletic training. He initially worked in Omaha and South Dakota before returning to Nebraska. Known for his enthusiasm and commitment, Sloup has been integral to the Lakeview athletic program and has also contributed to state events and student training programs. His passion for the profession and joy in witnessing his students’ success stand out as key highlights of his career.
