Brains on the brain: Dr. Matt Kelly joins CCH Psychiatry Clinic for residency

Dr. Matt Kelly has joined the Columbus Psychiatry Clinic for his residency, a move facilitated by a partnership between CCH and the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). This initiative aims to place UNMC students in rural areas like Columbus, offering them a chance to connect with their roots and address healthcare needs outside Omaha. 

At the clinic, Kelly will work alongside Dr. Venkata Kolli until the end of October, focusing on diagnosing, managing medication, and assisting with therapy. His residency is part of a 13-year educational journey, with his interest in psychiatry driven by the integration of the physical, mental, and social aspects of patient care. This collaboration between UNMC, Creighton, and CCH represents a promising step towards enhancing mental health care in the region.
