3D Mammography saves lives

Columbus Community Hospital is enhancing breast cancer detection with its 3D mammography technology, which offers significant advantages over traditional 2D mammograms. This advanced screening method provides more accurate detection of tumors, especially in dense breast tissue, and reduces the likelihood of false positives while improving patient comfort and safety.

With around 4,000 mammograms performed annually, the hospital emphasizes the importance of early detection in improving outcomes and preventing cancer spread. The American College of Radiology advises women to begin screenings at age 40 or earlier based on individual risk factors.
