Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels is a program that delivers well-balanced meals to eligible seniors or physically handicapped adults.

The meals are prepared by Columbus Community Hospital’s nutrition services department and delivered by community volunteers.

Each meal includes meat and potatoes or a casserole, as well as a vegetable, salad, dessert, bread and milk. We can also accommodate special diets. The meals cost $6.44 per day and CCH bills recipients at the end of each month for the meals they received. Financial assistance is available through the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services at 402-564-1113.

If bad weather prevents us from delivering meals, we will announce the cancellation on KTTT and KLIR radio. To cancel a meal delivery yourself, please call 402-562-4466 by 6 p.m. the day before the cancellation so you will not be charged for that meal.
