Student Nurse Internship Program

Columbus Community Hospital is committed to sharing the positive aspects of nursing and supporting those who are passionate about health care. With that end in mind, we are offering the Student Nurse Internship Program.

Because of the estimated nursing shortage, Columbus Community Hospital wants to make sure we have enough nursing staff for our patients. We encourage individuals choosing a career in nursing to apply for the Student Nurse Internship Program.

During the program, the nurse intern will receive a coach, who will mentor them through their journey of becoming a nurse. Interns are required to work a minimum of 24 hours per month while in the program.

Interns will receive work experience and scholarship assistance from the hospital that covers up to 75% of school tuition, books, and fees (up to hospital policy). Program interns can qualify for loan forgiveness after graduating and successfully passing board exams. The employment commitment to Columbus Community Hospital will directly correlate to the amount of financial support the intern receives.

Application Process

Applicants must submit the Student Nurse Internship Program application, as well as their resume, transcript, a brief essay regarding the desire to become a registered nurse and two letters of reference.

Applications are due by Oct. 31, 2024. If accepted, applicants will be notified by November 2024.
