Through Columbus Community Hospital's Respiratory Therapy Scholarship/Apprenticeship program, you can apply to a respiratory therapy program or course through Central Community College and Southeast Community College, and have CCH make payments on your behalf for tuition, books and other education-related expenses.
The majority of the program (general education credits) will be completed online, initially through Central Community College. Clinical rotations and labs will be completed through Southeast Community College at a rural health care facility.
CCH's goal is to award these scholarship/apprenticeship funds to highly qualified people who want to serve the CCH service area as respiratory therapists in the future.
Applicants will ideally make themselves available to work at CCH as respiratory therapy techs as their school workloads permit. They must also complete a CCH loan forgiveness agreement in exchange for employment as a full-time certified respiratory therapist (CRT) or registered respiratory therapist (RRT) at CCH.
To apply, you must submit the Scholarship/Apprenticeship Application for Respiratory Therapy Program, and your transcript, a brief essay on your respiratory therapy career goals and two letters of reference.
Please send your application to: Melinda Allen, employment and education coordinator, Columbus Community Hospital, P.O. Box 1800, Columbus, NE 68601.
We will give preference to applicants who are employees or immediate family members of CCH employees.
Applicants will be required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and must reveal all the federal and state financial aid or grants they have received.
