Seventh Annual Diabetes Awareness Day
Columbus, NE (October, 2010) – Area residents can learn more about Diabetes and its risk factors by attending an event that will provide education, resources and fun for all ages. The 7th Annual Diabetes Awareness Day will be held on Thursday, October 14th, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Platte County Agricultural Park in Columbus.
Columbus Community Hospital will sponsor free health screens to include bone density, vision, hearing, blood sugar and blood pressure assessments. There will also be various booths providing information regarding diabetes, exercise, and other topics related to the disease and foot checks are being offered from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Flu shots will be offered through the Hospital’s Occupational Health Services from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. for $20.00.
