Dr. Zaruba receives Medical Review Officer certification
Columbus, NE (August, 2010) – Dale Zaruba, M.D., recently received certification as Medical Review Officer for Occupational Health Services of Columbus Community Hospital. Dr. Zaruba has completed the required training and has passed a nationally recognized exam for Medical Review Officers of federally regulated drug testing programs, like those offered by OHS.
The American Association of Medical Review Officers, Inc. (AAMRO), is a non-profit medical society dedicated to establishing national standards and certification of medical practitioners and other professionals in the field of drug and alcohol testing. AAMRO certification is the standard of quality service and ethical conduct by qualified professionals involved in drug and alcohol testing.
A Medical Review Officer (MRO) plays a critical role in the federally mandated drug testing program. They assess drug test results as well as the quality control and quality assurance aspects of the testing. MROs balance the protected rights of the tested individual and the concerns for health and safety in the workplace. Their decision is as critical as the laboratory findings.
In addition to his recent certification as a Medical Review Officer, Dr. Zaruba is a Board Certified Family Practice physician and has served the Columbus area since 2002.
