Columbus Community Hospital Selected to Present at National Conference for Healthcare Best Practices
Columbus Community Hospital has been selected by Studer Group, a Huron Healthcare solution, to present at What’s Right in Health Care®, an annual healthcare best practices conference. Columbus Community Hospital will present among other high-performing organizations from across the U.S., Canada and Australia. The three-day conference will take place Aug. 2-4, 2016 in Chicago and attracts more than 1,200 administrative and clinical healthcare professionals.
Organizations are nominated to present at the annual conference based on results achieved in nationally-reported healthcare performance metrics or for their innovation in healthcare improvement. Presenters from the U.S., Canada and Australia will share the strategies and tactics contributing to their top results in areas such as patient safety, emergency department wait times and employee satisfaction.
Mike Hansen, President and CEO, Chad Van Cleave, Chief Financial Officer, Sue Deyke, Emergency Department Director, and Sue Hrnicek, Surgical Services Director, will present on the topic of Accountability: “One First Down at a Time Leads to a Winning Team,” about Columbus Community Hospital’s game plan to achieving accountability.
What’s Right in Health Care® aims to improve healthcare for patients, physicians and staff through peer-to-peer sharing of leading practices. More than 35 breakout sessions and seven keynote speakers make up the conference agenda.
Presenter nominations came from Studer Group’s partner-base of hospitals, health systems and physician organizations. Each nominee is vetted and selected by an interdisciplinary committee of physicians, nurses and administrative staff. The committee selected 22 presenters from a nomination list of 55 organizations.
“What’s Right in Health Care® differs from other healthcare industry events by maintaining a focus on what is working well in healthcare and celebrating the nurses, physicians and administrators that are the heart of the industry,” said Debbie Ritchie, president of Studer Group. “One thing all of our presenters have in common is a passion for their work and a drive to make healthcare better for their communities.”
Results from the mandated Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) survey are utilized by the selection committee to evaluate organizational performance. Other data considered includes each organization’s employee engagement scores measured internally. Conference host and healthcare outcomes firm Studer Group has led the industry in research and strategies linking employee engagement to clinical outcomes and safety.
