Columbus Community Hospital Offers Unique Opportunity for Babies and Toddlers
Columbus, NE (April, 2011) – Have you ever wondered what your baby or toddler is thinking? What if you could give your baby or toddler the ability to tell you when they wanted a drink or if they were hot or cold? And what if your child could do this even before they could talk?
Columbus Community Hospital’s Wiggles and Giggles Therapy for Kids is offering a class on Thursday, May 19, at 6:30 p.m. that will give your baby or toddler a way to communicate even before they can speak. It’s called Baby Signs®.
Babies and toddlers often use signs as a natural part of the communication process. Many babies know how to wave “bye-bye” or use a headshake to mean “no”. The Baby Signs® program can help your baby use lots of other gestures to communicate just as easily as these more common “signs”.
By teaching your child a few simple signs, the ability to communicate will literally be at their fingertips. The Baby Signs® program stimulates intellectual development and can make learning to talk easier for all infants and toddlers.
Cost for the class is $60. Pre-registration and payment are due prior to the evening of the class. To pre-register your child or to find out more about the Baby Signs® program, call 562-3341 and ask for Delanie Hudnall, Pediatric Speech Therapist.
