The mission of the Columbus Community Hospital Auxiliary is to support the financial and service endeavors of the Columbus Community Hospital.

The Columbus Community Hospital Auxiliary was organized in June 1972 after the merger of St. Mary’s Hospital and Behlen Memorial Hospital.  Over the years, the Auxiliary has donated over $1 million to the hospital for the purchase of medical equipment.

Sources for raising funds have included:

  • Annual Extravaganza
  • Unique Discoveries Gift Shop proceeds
  • Special event sales such as book fairs and jewelry sales
  • Handmade gift items from our Sewing Suite
  • Raffles
  • Sewing house crafts
  • Vending Machine proceeds
  • Bake sales

The money raised by the Columbus Community Hospital Auxiliary is used to assist the hospital with purchases of medical advancements.  Purchases made possible, exclusively or in part, by use of Auxiliary-raised funds include:

  • Digital Mammography Equipment
  • Millennium Ventilator
  •  Precious Hearts Project
  • EKG Machine
  • Fetal Doppler
  • Integra-Gel Cushion Sets for Operating Room Tables
  • Sit-to-Stand
