Pain Management

Acute pain is managed with a combination of oral, intravenous and intramuscular medications depending on the severity of the pain and the patients’ individual requirements.

Pain associated with surgical procedures may also be managed with the latest in nerve block techniques. These techniques provided by the anesthesia department identify the nerves that serve the affected surgical area and they are then injected with local anesthetic to provide many hours of postoperative pain relief.

Chronic pain problems may be managed by specialty clinics that are available with a referral from your personal physician.
