Columbus Community Hospital strives to keep patients and visitors informed and involved in their healthcare decisions. We believe that, as consumers of health care, members of the community have a right to know about our hospital's quality of care and how it compares to state and national performance goals. The Columbus Community Hospital Quality Report shows the performance of our hospital on several nationally recognized quality indicators compared with national benchmarks.  Although much of this information is available on other public websites, we believe in being transparent, open and honest about the quality of care we provide and our efforts to provide consistently excellent care to our patients. 

These quality indicators are nationally recognized as measures of care that our patients should expect in our hospital.  We have attempted to provide some context and information to help you understand what these clinical quality indicators mean and why they are important.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has a web site known as “Hospital Compare” where you may learn about and compare hospitals in Nebraska as well as those across the county.  The data shown on this site for Columbus Community Hospital is more recent than the data shown on the Hospital Compare Site.

Joint Commission Public Notice Regarding Safety and Quality of Care

The Joint Commission conducts periodic accreditation surveys at Columbus Community Hospital.  The purpose of the survey is to evaluate the organizations compliance with nationally established Joint Commission standards.  The survey results are used to determine whether, and the conditions under which, accreditation should be awarded to Columbus Community Hospital. 

Joint Commission standards  deal with organizational quality of care issues and the safety of the environment in which care is provided.

As a patient, family member, community representative or employee of Columbus Community Hospital, you have the right to notify the Joint Commission regarding any concern about the quality of care provided, safety of care provided, or the safety of the environment in which care is provided.  Anyone believing that he or she has pertinent and valid information about such matters should notify the Joint Commission using the contact information below.
