CCH President/CEO Receives Honor The American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) has announced that Claude Chatterton, President and CEO of Columbus Community Hospital, has achieved Fellow status. Fellow status is the highest level awarded by the American College of Healthcare Executives.
The ACHE is an international professional society of more than 30,000 healthcare executives who lead hospitals, healthcare systems and other healthcare organizations. The organization is known for its prestigious credentialing and educational programs.
To qualify for Fellow status, Chatterton successfully completed the Board of Governors Examination in Healthcare Management. Additional requirements include: Holding a Healthcare Management position in an ACHE recognized organization; recommendations from three member Fellows; a post baccalaureate degree; completing required continuing education credits; participation in healthcare services on a national or regional basis and participation in community organizations.
Chatterton received his MHA from the University of Minnesota and has held a Healthcare Management position since 1983. While in Illinois, he was a member of the Illinois Hospital Association (IHA) Board of Directors and the Illinois Rural Health Association’s Board. He also served as a Regional President for IHA. Chatterton was involved in his community through his service on the Chamber of Commerce Board, his Church Council and the Kiwanis Club of Harrisburg.
Chatterton became President/CEO of Columbus Community Hospital on December 4, 2006, after holding a similar position at Harrisburg Medical Center in Harrisburg,, Illinois.
