Columbus Community Hospital Names New CEO The Board of Directors of Columbus Community Hospital is proud to announce the hiring of Claude Chatterton as CEO/President of the Hospital, effective December 4, 2006. The announcement was made today by Rich Anderson, Board Chair.
"We are delighted to welcome Claude to our hospital and our community," said Anderson. "We feel that he will be a huge asset to the Hospital and we look forward to Claude's leadership and expertise in the healthcare field." When Chatterton and his wife, Mary Jo, recently visited Columbus, they were very impressed with the medical, hospital and administrative staff of the Hospital. They were equally impressed with the community and the people they met. Anderson stated, "It is this type of impression that makes it easy to recruit a quality person such as Claude."
Chatterton has spent the past 10 years as the Presdient/CEO of Harrisburg Medical Center in Harrisburg, Illinois. He has also held the Administrator position at hospitals in Michigan, Minnesota, and South Dakota. He has also served in the United States Navy.
He received his undergraduate degree in business from the College of St. Thomas and his master's degree in Hospital and Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota.
Chatterton is a Diplomat with the American College of Healthcare Executives and also serves as a director for the Illinois Hospital Association. He is also active in the community, having participated in Kiwanis, the American Legion, the Chamber of Commerce, Quail Unlimited and several church councils.
Chatterton will be moving to Columbus with his wife.
