Janssen Selected as CCH Lead Therapist Doug Janssen, DPT, physical therapist at Columbus Community Hospital, has recently been selected as Acute Care Lead Therapist. Janssen’s duties will focus on coordinating the physical, occupational and speech therapy care for all hospital patients. Janssen’s appointment to this new position will help further the hospital’s goal of achieving the highest level of care for all patients by coordinating teamwork among its staff.
Janssen received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Creighton University in 1996 as part of the first class of DPT graduates in the nation. Not only does his physical therapy experience include all aspects of the hospital setting, but outpatient, nursing home and home health environments as well.
With a specialty in orthopedics and joint replacement, Doug provides ongoing physical therapy for hip and knee replacement patients, from pre-surgery education, hospitalization and on through the home health and outpatient environments. Janssen has also been instrumental in starting a new Balance and Fall Risk Reduction program for patients who may have suffered a stroke, have Parkinson’s disease or suffer from other neurological conditions.
An employee of the Hospital since 2006, Janssen, his wife Janelle and their five children live in Columbus.
