Marshall Chosen as President of NSATA

Columbus, NE (May, 2008) Rob Marshall, Athletic Trainer with Columbus Community Hospital, has been elected for a second term as President of the Nebraska State Athletic Trainers’ Association. Marshall was re-elected during the District 5 NATA Convention in Sioux Falls, S.D in April and will serve as the Association’s President until 2010. Marshall will represent over 300 licensed Athletic Trainers in the state. He also serves on the Board of Directors for District 5, which represents North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma.

The Nebraska State Athletic Trainers’ Association was organized in 1980. The organization works through its members to help establish athletic training as the leading profession providing quality health care services to the physically active. Athletic trainers work at the high school and college level providing education to young athletes, coaches and parents in ways to prevent injuries as well as evaluating and deciding the best course of action when injuries occur. The Athletic Trainer works closely with athletes, coaches, parents and doctors during an athlete’s rehabilitation.

Marshall has been employed by the hospital since 2002 and works with the athletic programs of Columbus High School, and Fullerton High School. He as also worked with Twin River High School, and Boone Central High School.
