Visiting Hours

At Columbus Community Hospital, patient care is our primary concern. In order to enhance the quality of care, specific visiting hours and regulations have been established for each unit.

The main hospital entrance is open to the public from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

After regular visiting hours (8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.), visitors will be required to sign in at the Emergency Department admissions desk. The admissions clerk will assign a numbered badge that must be worn by the visitor while in the facility. Upon leaving the hospital, the visitor should return the badge to the Emergency Department and sign out.

Acute Care Visiting Hours

To allow patients their needed rest, recommended visiting hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Intensive Care Visiting Hours

Visitors to the Intensive Care Unit are limited to immediate family members. Visitations are limited to 10 minutes each hour.

Maternal Child Health Visiting Hours

Visiting hours in Maternal Child Health are from 11:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Please consult the staff in Maternal Child Health regarding sibling visitation. Except for those siblings accompanied by an adult, no other visitors under the age of 14 will be allowed in the unit.

Skilled Nursing Unit Visiting Hours

Visiting hours in the Skilled Nursing Unit are unrestricted, but children visiting the unit must be accompanied by an adult.

Emergency Services

Emergency Department

The Emergency Department is located in the southwest portion of the first floor and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Rapid Reponse Team

The Institute for Healthcare Improvement implemented Rapid Response Teams as part of their Save 100K Lives campaign to make hospitals safer and improve patient outcomes.

CCH joined this movement and started their Rapid Response Team in November 2005. The team responds to calls throughout the hospital in Radiology, Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, Acute Care Unit, and OB.

Staff calls for the Rapid Response Team when a patient’s condition takes a turn for the worse and the result is similar to bringing the Intensive Care Unit to the patient.

We have made this service available to patients and their families, who may activate the team by informing their nurse they feel the Rapid Response Team is needed. By involving patients and their families, we feel our team is complete.
